Priority Board has three columns: Backlog, Current, and Done. Add ideas to Backlog, choose up to three priorities for Current, and open a Current card to work on one step. You can change the limit in Settings.
The download includes the app and an AI skill. The skill tells your assistant how to set up the board and update your saved priorities when you ask.

What you can do
| Action | How it works |
|---|---|
| Save an idea | Choose Add idea. It goes to Backlog. |
| Choose your priorities | Drag cards into Current. If Current is full, choose one to move back. |
| Start a task | Open a Current card. Focus shows its next step and due date, if set. |
| Plan more steps | Choose Edit steps, add or change steps, then save. The list closes. |
| Track progress | Step done shows the next step. Mark done completes the whole priority. |
| Return to work | Resume opens the last Current priority you viewed. |
Notes, deadlines, waiting information, and completed steps stay in Details. You can turn off completion celebrations in Settings.
Set up your board
Use Claude Cowork or Codex on your computer. The ZIP includes a version for each. Both use the same design and controls.
- Download the ZIP below.
- Give the file to your AI assistant.
- Copy and send this message:
Set up Priority Board from this ZIP. Read the included instructions, check what my computer needs, and open the board for me.
In Cowork, Claude opens the board as a private artifact, an interactive page saved in your Claude account. Your account needs access to artifacts with saved data. If that feature is unavailable, Claude should tell you during setup.
In local Codex, your assistant starts the board on your computer. Uploading the ZIP to a regular web chat does not give that chat access to your computer.
Once the board opens, choose Add idea to get started. For a tour, choose How it works → Start guided tour.
Prefer to set it up yourself? The download includes a SETUP.md guide with
manual instructions.
Ask AI for a smaller first step
In Focus, choose Help me start, then Copy request for AI. Paste the request into your AI chat. It includes the saved priority and its details. Review the suggestion, then add the step you want through Edit steps. You can also ask the assistant connected to your board to suggest a step and save the one you choose.
This button copies a request. It does not send data to an AI provider or update the board automatically. Check the request before sharing private work details.
Update the board through conversation
Use the same assistant you asked to set up the board. Ask for a change, such as:
Add “Prepare the client proposal” to Backlog. Set its first step to “Open the client brief.”
Keep the board open while the assistant saves your change. The page checks for updates while it is open; no scheduled task is needed. You decide what belongs in Current and which steps to use.
If you start a new Cowork conversation, give Claude your existing artifact link and this skill. For the local version, give your assistant access to the app folder. Ask it to read the existing board before making changes.
Where your work is saved
| Version | Where saved priorities live |
|---|---|
| Claude Cowork | In the artifact's private storage in your Claude account. Reopen the same artifact to return to your board. |
| Local app | In board.json in .local/share/tech-with-tam/priority-board inside your home folder. Reopen the launcher to return. |
These are separate boards. They do not sync with each other. The HTML displays your priorities; it does not save them inside the downloaded HTML file.
Closing the browser does not delete saved work. Unsaved steps should be saved before closing or reloading the page.
Export downloads a readable Markdown copy. It is a snapshot, not a file you
can import back into the board. For a restorable backup of the local version,
stop the launcher and copy board.json. Do not share runtime.json; it contains
temporary access information for the local service.
The board has no reminders or built-in AI chat. Cowork stores board data in Claude. The local version stores it on your computer. Information you share with an AI assistant is handled by that provider.
Setup details
The Cowork version needs no local server or Python installation. It uses Claude's artifact features. The local version uses Python 3.9 or newer and a web browser; keep its launcher window open while using it.
Neither version needs an AI API key or scheduled task.
The Cowork version was tested in Claude Desktop on macOS, including saved work, steps, completion, undo, conversation updates, and export. The local board was tested on macOS using Codex. Windows launch files are included; full use on Windows, Linux, Claude Code, and ChatGPT Work still needs testing. The ZIP does not install a remote connector.
